After a few weeks of thinking it over (and a bit of inspiration from catching up on an acquaintance's blog), I've decided to give this platform a go! I'm really hoping I can actually publish some stuff on here and that it continues without any "enshittification" or censorship, considering the history of some other places I've written on12. I'm sure considering the nature of the AT Protocol there isn't much room for the latter to happen, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

So who am I? That's a good question. To be honest: I'm not completely sure, but that seems like a normal thing to grappling with at the young age of 20. To start, I'll go by the name Melia here just to keep things simple. I'm currently working on a B.A. in Anthropology and reside in Texas. My hobbies include, watching sports (basketball, soccer, equestrian), making coffee (my currently daily cup is New Mexico Coffee Company's Traditional Piñon blend3), and language learning. Research topics of interest include: transfeminism, the medicalization of cultural phenomena, and the functions of how language shapes identity (a little broad on that last one but give me time to specialize!) Otherwise, I may write about media I have strong feelings about or random thoughts I have. Don't expect personal stuff as I have intentionally made this blog to be relatively anonymous4!

Now another question may arise, why should you read my stuff? Notably, I have the heart of a pure maiden5 and could never espouse any hate! I'm woke and gay and kind of a loser so if you can relate you should definitely add my publication to your RSS Feed! (can you do that here?) This blog, while being more professional by my standards will still be quite informal most of the time, so feel free to give me a follow on bluesky as well if you enjoy my work, as I may post a few exclusive threads and other goodies. With all that said, I bid you adieu and go back to my readings, see you around!

P.S.

I also love taking pictures of the clouds so expect that too :]
